Amazon is testing out humanoid robots for fulfillment center tasks. Named Digit and produced by Agility Robotics, it’s fair to say they don’t look anything like the competition:

The Digit ‘bot, with its satyr-like legs:
“Amazon’s initial use of Digit,” writes Agility Robotics, “will be to help employees with tote recycling; a highly repetitive process of picking up and moving empty totes once inventory has been completely picked out of them.”

Agility says they’re shipping these to partners next year, with general market availability to follow in 2025.
